SABINE MIRLESSE

Mirlesse’s research in Les Arques in the spring 0f 2023 about the story of a sunken bell in the local village spring waters, the possibility of finding it including working with local water dowsers or “sourciers” in french (the word etymologically connects to the source itself), and the feasibility of suspending a new bell above the sunken one, creating a vertical movement back to the invisible depths below, and echo above. These pieces are  reflections on that vertical silhouette, sculpted from local hazelwood trees. The divining rods return, this time in their most common form of hazelwood branch as well.

Modular pieces, various sizes. Hazelwood and Oak. Unique.
