Quilted Rhythm Near the Sea, Return to Heimaey (2017)

Part Two to the work As if it should have been a quarry, I returned to Heimaey in 2017 to continue photographing the excavations after the thirty year anniversary of the eruption, only to find the site largely destroyed. Instead I photographed whatever melted objects I could find and for the first time, where the lava flow met the surrounding sea. This is what remains.
