Part Two to the work As if it should have been a quarry, and a return to Heimaey in 2017 to continue photographing the excavations thirty years after the eruption, only to find the site largely destroyed. Instead Mirlesse photographed whatever melted objects she could find and for the first time, where the lava flow met the surrounding sea.
