Located at the top of the Puy de Dôme volcano in France, this winter project opening at the end of 2022 will take the form of an installation of monumental ephemeral sculptures in the form passageways positioned for the Pleiades constellation. Each piece will be sculpted by the Atlantic winds and atmospheric conidtionts that give way to specific frost phenomena, eventually disappearing with the arrival of spring. It will be realized in collaboration with the meteorological station and observatory on site. This exceptional Unesco world heritage location was chosen for its unique and pure atmosphere, its recurring frost and ice storms, and on the basis of my grandfather’s research in the 1930s for the Ministry of Air, and the Roman ruins of the pagan temple of Mercury which still stands there today.
